FOIA

What is FOIA?

The Freedom of Information Act [5 ILCS 140], is an Illinois statute governing the inspection of public records.  This Act provides for public inspections of records in the possession of Santa Anna Township. Exemptions are also provided to ensure the confidentiality of certain records.

How do I make a FOIA request?

To request copies of records or to personally inspect records, information must be requested in written form. Written requests may be electronically submitted via email at santa.anna.supv@frontier.com or faxed to 309-928-3321.

Mail-in requests should be submitted to the FOIA Officer, Santa Anna Township, PO Box 114, 819 N Main St, Farmer City, IL 61842.

What is the response time to FOIA requests?

Santa Anna Township will respond to all requests within five business days after the request is received (starting with the first business day after a request is received).  In cases where additional time is necessary, a letter will be sent within the five business day period.  Any written request faxed or emailed to the Township after business hours, Monday through Friday, (except holidays) will be considered received on the next business day.
